In 2 Peter, Peter writes anticipating his own death.  So, Peter pointed his readers to the true gospel, grounded in what God had revealed to them all in Jesus, and he warned them about false teachers.

Jude, a half-brother of Jesus, continues the warning against false teachers.

How are you guarding yourself against false teaching?  Would you recognize false teaching if you heard it?

I’ve heard it said that the way the Treasury Dept spots counterfeit money is by being so familiar with what real money looks like.  Maybe if we were more familiar with real, Biblical teaching, we would be quicker to recognize false teaching…
