In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Numbers 14-16; Psalm 95… we see the tragic results of not trusting God.

The Israelites decided not to enter the Promised Land; it looked too difficult, and they weren’t sure the could trust God to be true to His word.  So God said, in effect, “Have it your way.  Don’t enter the Promised Land.  Wander around in the wilderness for the rest of your lives.”  That’s when the Israelites suddenly got the courage to go in, but it was too late.  They had made their choice.

God calls us to an abundant life, just as He called them.  But, laying hold of it requires we trust Him.
