In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Numbers 17-20… we see more complaining by the people. They complained about the weather, about their environment, about Moses, and even about God.
The Bible calls their complaining “murmuring”. Call it whatever you like, but it’s ugly… and discouraging… and is a sin!
When we complain, we are showing a lack of gratitude toward God and the people He’s gifted us with. If we were truly “giving thanks for all things“, we would not be complaining. The best way to overcome the habit of complaining is to:
1) Accept God’s will
2) Thank God for His many good gifts.
3) Focus on the thousands of things we can appreciate rather than the 2 or 3 we don’t.
