In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… 1Chronicles 27-29; Psalm 68… we see David’s preparations for Solomon, his son, to take over as king.

David had hoped to build God a ‘house”.  He had even planned toward that.  But, his plans did not align with God’s plans.  God told David he could not build the Temple because he had “too much blood on his hands”.  So, it was left to David’s son, Solomon, to build it.

Instead of complaining because he could not build God’s house, David began preparing to help Solomon do the job.

David served his own generation well… and also served generations to come by unselfishly serving the Lord.

When disappointments come into your life, how do you handle them?
