In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… 2Kings 9-11; 2Chronicles 22:10–23:21… we see various kings, good and bad. We see prophecies made and prophecies fulfilled. It’s not pleasant to read these chapters, but we need to hear their message: Eventually sin will be judged, and God’s word is fulfilled.
On this day, the Supreme Court of the United States set aside DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act)… and the United States took a huge step toward nationwide, legalized, same-sex marriage. On this day, we need to hear the point of these chapters.
Eventually sin will be judged, and God’s word is fulfilled.
God will judge the sin of judging people rather than pointing out to them the fact God loves them too much for them to settle for a “less-than” relationship and lifestyle. God will judge the sin of homosexuality and disregarding the importance of moral standards. We can stand on the assurance that comes with knowing God’s Word will eventually prove itself as God’s authoritative guidebook for life on this earth.
Eventually sin will be judged, and God’s word fulfilled.
