In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Micah 5-7… we close the prophecy of Micah.

Imagine yourself in a courtroom…  God presents His case as a prosecuting attorney, and His case against His own people is strong.  Micah is left with the task of responding on behalf of the people; not so much as a defense attorney, though, because he would have agreed with God’s opinion of things.

By the end of the opening statement, it is obvious there is no need for a trial or closing arguments; both Israel and Judah are guilty as charged and deserve to be punished.

But, Micah’s message ends with a message of hope… there is good news in the fact God will ultimately restore His people who turn to Him.
