In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… 2Kings 16,17; 2Chronicles 28… we see the fall of Israel to Assyria. It would remain under the care if others (while always under the care of God) until 1948, when it would become a nation again (just as Scripture foretold).
God’s patience with Israel… grace upon grace… ran out, and he called on Assyria to carry Israel away. And they thought it could not… and would not… be done…
