In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Isaiah 27-30… Isaiah continues to share words of judgment mixed with encouragement.

Isaiah is often called “the evangelist of the Old Testament”.  He preached strong against injustice and immorality.  He spoke plainly about judgment; it was coming surely and swiftly.  His words were primarily for God’s own people, but also for the surrounding nations.

But, even throughout the dark clouds in the first half of Isaiah’s prophecy, there are rays of hope.  Isaiah predicted the coming of the Messiah.  The Messiah would be a Savior, who would be the hope of forgiveness and restoration.

Isaiah didn’t give us His name, but the New Testament does… His name is Jesus!
