In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Ezekiel 25-28… Ezekiel begins to share God’s judgment on the nations surrounding Judah. Especially Tyre.
But, don’t forget… God’s judgment begins with God’s people. They are held accountable for their sins.
If God will hold those who believe in Him responsible for their sins, He certainly will hold those who do NOT believe in Him responsible for their sins.
In ch.25-32, Ezekiel described God’s judgment on the Gentile nations surrounding Judah.
In our section today, Ezekiel focuses on the Ammonites and the Edomites… and the powerful cities of Tyre and Sidon.
In ch.28, Ezekiel has some interesting things to say about the king of Tyre. Many have drawn parallels to the king & Satan… some have even speculated he was Satan incarnate as Jesus is God incarnate!
The king of Tyre did think he was God. And his heart was lifted up with pride. And surely Satan was the source of this. And, it’s possible God was addressing Satan himself in v.11-19.
But, anything beyond that is speculation…
