In today’s (chronological) Bible reading… Matthew 15; Mark 7:1–8:10… we see an example of the many barriers Jesus climbed over to do what He was sent here to do.  Jesus was able to do whatever it took to reach people.  He still is.

He was able to get to the offended people.  Jesus rejected the man-made traditions of the scribes and Pharisees, because they focused on the outside and ignored the inner person.

He was able to get to the persistent people.  The disciples had been wrong; they tried to keep Jesus from the people they thought might be a bother.  But, Jesus’ delays weren’t meant to be denials; they were meant to gauge one’s faith.

He was able to get to the hungry people.  Evidently, the disciples had already forgotten when Jesus had fed a large crowd like this once before!  When you’re faced with a present crisis, take time to review God’s past mercies… and remind yourself God does not change.

Try to be as persistent as Jesus was… get to the people God has placed around you!
