Each week this year, I am challenging myself to memorize a Scripture verse (or verses). This week’s verse is Philippians 4:13. And it’s a GREAT verse!
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“I”… not he, she, or them… but ME!
“can”… not maybe or might or possibly or perhaps… but a certain trust in Jesus!
“do”… a verb, an action word; Christianity is not about sitting, but striving!
“all”… not some or most, but ALL!
“things”… every situation, every relationship, every “thing”; whatever you face, put its name in place of “things”!
“through”… in the original language Paul used, Greek, this word is a small word – en; in Christ, though, it becomes the channel through which Christ works!
“Christ”… the Messiah… Lord… Jesus!
“who”… because of this person and the path laid out, this will always be the results!
“strengthens”… the Greek word is dunamis (the same word we get the word “dynamite” from) which means power that produces more power!
“me”… the verse ends where it started!
