His 38 recording have garnered gold records, multiple Dove awards, Grammy nominations, number one songs, and countless accolades. During his travels, Dallas also speaks and teaches what God has taught him in his journey.
Holm’s creativity and diversity offer everything from inspirational to blues, from country to reggae. Whatever the style, it all points to Christ and the Cross. Holm’s songs focus on Jesus’ life, death and resurrection and His desire for intimate relationship with us.
Dallas says, “One of the great blessings of being around this long is that now I hear nightly of how God has used this ministry to change lives through the years. People come up and share how they were saved in a concert many years ago. I receive letters from parents telling me their kids came to know Christ at a concert and I also receive letters from kids who say their parents received Christ at a concert. We know of many in ministry both here and abroad who say that it was at a Dallas Holm concert where they felt the call to ministry. These testimonies and many more are the great highlight and reward of our ministry.”

This song reminds us that blood was required by God – and shed by Christ – for our sins. Salvation and grace may come freely to those who believe, but it wasn’t cheap!

So many paint such a pretty picture; soften it up and make it light.
They don’t paint the cross of Scripture; they just can’t seem to get it right.
There He hung in agony, giving Himself for you and me.
On a cross, alone, He died; shedding blood, the crucified…
shedding blood, the crucified.

The blood was red. The pain was real.
I can’t imagine how it must feel to be nailed to a cross… such an unfair deal.
The blood was red. The pain was real.

It should have been you and me hanging on that cruel tree.
It was us who caused the shame; we’re the ones… we’re to blame.
But He came and took our place for the love and sin’s disgrace.
Bound by sin to Calvary’s tree, He shed His blood to set us free.
He shed His blood to set us free.  (CHORUS)

But, descending into Hell He set the captives free.
By the power of His Spirit, He rose again and won the victory.  (Repeat v.1 & CHORUS)
