This song was written by Bergen White and was recorded by the Oak Ridge Boys… included on their album, Christmas.

Bergen White is a prominent arranger, singer and songwriter in the Nashville, TN, area. He had a brief recording career in the 1970s.

The Oak Ridge Boys are an American country and gospel vocal quartet. The group was founded in the 1940s as the Oak Ridge Quartet. They became popular in Southern Gospel during the 1950s. Their name was changed to the Oak Ridge Boys in the early 1960s, and they remained a gospel group until the mid-1970s, when they changed their image and concentrated on country music.
The lineup that produced their world-famous and most well-known country and crossover hits (such as “Elvira” [1981], “Bobbie Sue” [1982], and “American Made”) consists of Duane Allen (lead), Joe Bonsall (tenor), William Lee Golden (baritone), and Richard Sterban (bass). Golden and Allen joined the group in the mid-1960s, and Sterban and Bonsall joined in the early 1970s. Aside from an 8-year gap (1987–95) when Golden left the group and was replaced, this lineup has been together since 1973 and continues to tour and record.

This song – in fact, this whole album – has long been a favorite of our family.
This song starts with a modern-day Christmas Eve setting… and looks back to that first night of Jesus’ birth.
Bible Reference… Luke 2:1-7; John 1:1-5,10-14
She sat by the fireside ‘til her eyes became too heavy,
and she wandered off in dreams with elves at play.
Daddy found her sleeping, and took her up to bed
where she would spend the night in Santa’s flying sleigh.
Christmas was a whisper in her ear, sounds that only children’s hearts can hear.

Little one, in the morning when you wake up,
you’ll find your every dream has taken form.
There’ll be joy. Christmas day will come to life because of you.
        You are loved, little one.

Mary lay and pondered ‘til her eyes became too heavy,
and she finally found the rest she’d struggled for.
Joseph sat in silence, and watched the Baby sleeping,
and wondered what the future held in store.
Angel voices whispered in his ear; reaching down he drew the Baby near. (CHORUS)

        2nd CHORUS:
Little One, in the morning when You wake up,
the world will find that God has taken form.
There’ll be joy. And the earth will have new life because of You.
You are love, Little One. (REPEAT)
